Talking Drum, African Musical Instrument

This hourglass-shaped double-headed talking drum originates from West Africa. Strung tightly to tune both drum heads, the various beads can be adjusted to to produce resonating sounds, mimicking tones and speech patterns of the human voice. One of the oldest instruments in West Africa, the dondo/ talking drum is popular in many different geographic areas and cultures.
